Partnering with Portland International Airport, we defined a strategic approach for communication and design to leverage upcoming construction as an opportunity to authentically connect with travelers, and unify disparate projects.

The logomark emobodies future change and forward momentum while drawing inspiration from PDX’s past and its well-loved, historic carpet pattern.

We prototyped full-scale environmental design concepts and tested the graphic system with a range of employees and travelers.

More than a graphic identity, we designed PDX Next as a holistic experience to prepare, guide and excite the public about changes at the airport. From launch events, public involvement, campaigns and mascots—PDX Next is built to engage and guide key communication moments over the next five years.
