What started as a visual mark and collateral to celebrate PBOT’s role as the clean-up crew during the Portland Rose Festival Parade, turned into a summer-long campaign engaging the public on the investment to fix city streets.

Building on the program’s existing logo, we expanded it into an illustration integrating the city’s symbol of roses, with a wrench to focus on the work it takes to fix city streets, and the beauty it yields. The approach is inspired by utility covers that include roses—connecting public infrastructure with civic pride.

The illustration and messaging were applied to posters, stickers, t-shirts and truck decals used during the Rose Festival Parade.
